Texas Giants
NON-SHEDDING & HYPO-ALLERGENIC
I feel we owe it to you - our puppy owners - to be completely transparent about ourselves as the breeders of your future puppy and family member. My husband and I both work full time jobs and care for our dogs as a true hobby. Our dogs and the income we receive from them is not how we support ourselves or our family financially. 90% of the income we receive from our dogs goes right back into their care, savings and maintenance. I am a Registered Nurse and work as the Manager of a local hospice agency while my husband is a night supervisor for a large brand name beverage company. We have 2 children together, a 5 year old boy and a 4 year old little girl who are the loves of our lives (our kids after our dog kids).
My husband Derek and I had a "dog child" before our children that was a salt & pepper Standard Schnauzer named Trout. Trout was an amazing sidekick for my husband who was devastated when Trout expired. About a year after losing Trout we decided to adopt a new puppy...and along came Sprocket. We just couldn't see ourselves trying to identically "replace" Trout so we went for the larger breed in the Giant Schnauzer. We fell in love with Sprocket and soon came to adopt our standard poodle Lady from a breeder looking to re-home her after she grew up in some not-so-ideal conditions. We nurtured her back to mental health and the two were inseparable.
After only a short time we realized the differences in the personalities, intelligence, loyalty and wanted to create a dog that encompassed all of those special traits we grew to love in our two dogs. Through this our Giant Schnoodle litters were born and the puppies they produced were just as we had researched and hoped. Perfect combinations of all of our favorite charicteristics in our two dogs all genetically created in an ideal hybrid breed - the Giant Schnoodle. We were so impressed with the breed that we wanted to share these amazing dogs with everyone else and set up a small website to do just that. As a working mother I couldn't see myself sitting in a parking lot trying to convince the occasional passer-by how amazing these dogs were and I knew that wouldn't be fair to the puppies. For these reasons we decided to create an online website and a waiting list to ensure the puppies went to only the best homes and to people who would be willing to wait for a puppy if necessary - not a "puppy in the window" impulsive purchase.
It has been such a rewarding and at times challenging opportunity for myself and my family. I have been able to show my children a lot about the world through the dogs we raise and I feel better knowing my children have learned some of life's lessons early in life in such a positive way. It wasn't long until my mother fell in love with our dogs as well and purchased Isabella from the same breeder we bought Sprocket from. Mom wasn't quite as prepared for a Giant as she initially thought she would be so we welcomed Bella into our family with open arms...and the rest is history. Breeding our two most favorite types of dogs has become a growing passion and hobby for my husband and my self. I have recently had the opportunity to enlist the help of my sister who moved to llano (YEA!!) and the dogs are growing in her heart as well. My sisters name is Kayla and she is a "doggy mommy" too. Kayla is the owner of Athena and one of our Giant Schnoodle puppies from a past litter named Willa. We are SOOOO thankful to have the help of Kayla and she has jumped right in feet first into our exciting endeavor.
I always go back to the dogs in anything we do, their health is first and foremost followed by socialization and equally their care. These dogs are never kenneled in small quarters and have a huge dog-specialized yard with automatic waters and food. Every litter we produce we put the money back into making improvements in their living quarters with each litter. Future plans for our dogs include heated and air conditioned dog houses, concreting a porch for our large community dog house in their dog run along with so much more fun things including (dont tell my husband)...a doggy swimming pool!! I think our dogs are spoiled rotten and they love it. Our dogs are not inside dogs and live in their specialized living quarters but are played with daily and welcomed inside our home for socialization and play time.
